Stuckey Automotive acquires Joel Confer Ford of Bellefonte
CENTRAL COUNTY, PA (WTAJ) – Stuckey Automotive has acquired Joel Confer Ford of Bellefonte, according to an announcement by President Matt Stuckey on Wednesday.
Joel Confer Ford of Bellefonte will be known as Stuckey Ford of Bellefonte effective July 1 and opens on July 8. The company has been owned and operated by the Confer family since 2004. It will be the fifth dealership under Stuckey Automotive, with two locations in Hollidaysburg, one in Altoona and one at State College.
According to Stuckey Automotive, the deal came after the businessmen were introduced by a colleague and mutual friend.
“This introduction is one I will always be grateful for,” said Matt Stuckey. “We had the opportunity to develop our brand in Center County. It’s a lesson in humility when a man like Joel is confident that you will take care of his business and his clients as you would your own. We should all be lucky enough to meet a Joel Confer in life.
The Confer family will continue to operate its Toyota and BMW branches at State College. All of Bellefonte’s Joel Confer employees have been recruited to join the Stuckey organization, according to the announcement.
“I have to applaud Matt and his team,” said Joel Confer. “As exciting as it is to watch their business grow, it soothes me even more to know that they will do what is right for our employees and our community. I can’t wait to see what they do next – and where!
